Last week we enjoyed some spectacular fireworks in Groton CT, at their annual Sailfest. The fireworks were sponsored by the Mashanatucket Pequot Tribal Nation, who have built one of the worlds largest casino's near Jacob and Kate's home. We learned from Jacob and Kate that they are direct rivals with another one of the worlds largest casino's, and that their struggles even pre-date the Revolutionary War. Interesting, huh? You can read more about it here. (One of the things I love about the East Coast is how everything you see and do has a history, and both Jacob and Kate knew alot about the history of their area in Connecticut. Thanks for all the history lessons you two!) Anyway, I digress as usual. Personally, I am happy the two tribes are still rivals because it meant we had an amazing fireworks display over the harbor. I can honestly say they were probably the best fireworks I have ever seen!
