We're back!

One case of water, two bags of snacks and cereal, over 3,000 miles, countless pieces of gum, an unbelievable amount of gas, ten loads of laundry and many memorable hours of fun and enjoyment later, and we are finally home. I drove straight through from Albany, New York to Minneapolis last night. I must say that is probably something I would not recommend. We spent over 20 hours in the car yesterday. Yep, you read that right. Twenty hours! Aidan was so good, I can hardly believe it. My Mapquest printout originally estimated it would be about a 17 hour drive so we left Albany at about 4:30 am Monday morning. Let's just say I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me, so we had to stop at every stinkin' Travel Plaza through New York and into Ohio. We also had our fair share of road construction, and there were so many toll booths I lost count after awhile. Since our morning had been slowed down by our many rest stops, we hit Chicago right in the middle of rush hour, and then finally arrived home around 12:30 a.m. Other than yesterday, the trip was stellar, and Aidan is already asking me when our next road trip is! I have many pictures to share, so keep checking! Maybe after I finish the laundry, do the yardwork, buy some groceries, and vacuum all the sand out of my car I will have some time for the computer!
