I have been a sewing fiend the last two weeks, trying to get ready to bring some items down to a friends studio in Northfield. Aidan and I brought my wares down there today, and let me tell you, what a treat! For starters, Carla's studio is amazing, and I am so excited to be able to have my items there. The studio is flooded with color and light, and it is probably one of the most cheerful shops I have ever been in. It also seems that every time I see Carla's work, it is so much more amazing than before. She just keeps coming up with all sorts of neat things to paint. So - if you need to do any Christmas shopping, her studio would be a great place to find all sorts of treasures. And - right away - I decided I would just like to move to that charming little town. I called James and told him so, because I had it all figured out in my head. We'd be closer to James' parents, I could work at the hospital, there is a thriving artisan community, the housing market is prime for buyers..... James? Oh - he can just commute. So if any of you need a girls weekend, or a fun place to do some shopping, head to Northfield. Their little main street was bustling with activity, and there were so many shops there you could easily spend a day wandering dreamy-eyed through them all.
I also have a job interview tomorrow, for a highly coveted position at a hospital nearer our home. I have been trying to get in there since April, so this is my second interview, and although this position was apparently posted with me in mind, I am trying not to get my hopes up. Most hospitals have unions, and whether or not you are a member determines your eligibility for a job. Currently, I am not, so I am at a disadvantage. So we will see. But I am really stuck, because I wore my "interview suit" last time, so I am tossing around what I should wear. I have two other tops I think would be great, but they are so similar in shape and color to what I wore last time..... I can't decide. Sadly, I don't suppose linen and sandals really work.
So I should go to bed. I need to have the car packed and myself interview ready when I drop Aidan off at James' work at 10:00, and then after the interview we will hit the open road. But I wanted to share my pictures from today with you, so you could see a little of "the Barefoot Studio." Enjoy your tour!

Good luck...sending you positive thoughts about the interview and the trip. I have friends who work at St. Olaf in Northfield. They all commute from Mpls/St. Paul to Northfield so it can happen.
Naphtali...you are so sweet! Thanks for the positive comments. The studio looks WAY better now that your amazing stuff is in. I sold a scarf within the first hour after you left. I can't wait until you move here! heehee...see you soon, Carla
this sounds like a good stop for our next visit north.
