We spent Friday night with some friends, and then we spent the remainder of the weekend in Iowa. We caught up with both the Grandma's, spent some time at Tim and Leslie's cabin, and James was able to get in a few rounds of golf with Tim and Phil. Thanks everyone for such a lovely weekend.
They played so nicely all day.

You have probably seen puppy in our previous posts. Well.... I regret to inform you all that puppy has been relegated to this spot on the bathroom floor for the past few weeks. Yes, I do clean the bathroom, but I am leaving puppy here because I want to see how long until Aidan "makes up" with puppy. He has faithfully carried him around for the last three years, and suddenly he decided puppy was crabby and he didn't want to hang out with him anymore. I think the end of their relationship has been harder on me than it has been on poor puppy.

Aidan and Izzy

We found a typewriter at Grandma Donna's house, and it provided hours of entertainment.
He wasn't quite as excited about the record player.
We made a "bear cave" for him to sleep in at Grandma's house.

Yours truly on one of my favorite pieces of furniture at my Grandma's house. The metal, free-standing porch swing. I spent many hours reading books there as a kid, and I still love to swing back and forth.
What do
you think when you see this license plate?

Bear has replaced puppy. Not that I have anything against Nippy Shady Beary Kahl (as he has been named by Aidan.) I just want puppy back.

what a dilemna. we all know that puppy has to go sometime but you hate to see it end in a tiff...and nippyshady just doesn't look to be a bear of character next to puppy. i wonder who will make the trip to nebraska?? the pictures of your visit were great - looks like everyone had a good time.
Wonderful photos and great leaking bra story, too. The story of puppy's abandonment reminded me of Andrea's Bear who was her faithful friend for many years. I don't remember how old she was when this happened (7? 13? 30?), but one day she let out a scream that could be heard for blocks, and she comes out of the bathroom with a dripping wet Bear in her hands. She was sobbing, "Somebody tried to drown Bear!" (We won't even talk about how filthy that bathwater was...) She was heartbroken, but both she and Bear made a full recovery. I like the idea of leaving puppy where he is to see what Aidan does. Let us know if they kiss and make up.
And great photo of you, too!
