More

I love going to the mountains. We have been going to Colorado with my parents every year since they moved to Nebraska. Our first year I was pregnant, and it was fun because my parents and James pretty much deferred to me regarding all the food choices. I haven't been quite as lucky on more recent trips.

It is also fun to look back at our pictures and see how much Aidan has changed. Our second time there he was only 5 months old, but after hanging out with us adults for three meals a day every day, he went on strike and decided he only wanted big people food. No more bottles, no baby food, if it didn't look like what we had, he didn't want it! He is still stubborn like that, and he still loves to eat!

We also see, as we look back at the pictures that my hair color is different every year, sometimes it is even two colors per trip! (I'd rather make a mess at someone else's house.) Now.... this is not something I am proud of, and you would think after my first experience with hair color I would have stopped. But - I am proud to say I am blond this year, for the first time in 5 years, so maybe the lessons are finally starting to sink in. For some reason I usually think "road trip = hair dye," and I often end up regretting my decisions later. Last year my stupidity cost me tons of money, as I had to have my hair stripped, recolored, and hacked off. It makes me sad to even think about it.... but lesson learned. Box colors only work on virgin hair, which I haven't had for years. (there you go - another confession!)

And, if you look back at our photos from the past 5 years, you will see James wearing the same clothes every year. Orange shirt, grey jacket, every year, without fail. His sense of style is absolutely timeless. :) (The shirt really is the best, I found it at a second-hand store for $10.00, and it has been on every single trip we have taken since then.)

My parents? They still look about the same. A few more greys, but otherwise, not much has changed. This fact gives me great hope! Although looking at this years pictures I think I already have as many wrinkles as my mom does.

We love going to Estes Pk and have so many memories there, too. So it's fun to hear about yours! We always go to Village Pizza, is that where you eat?
Glad you had fun!

Funny how there don't seem to be any photos of your mom nor was she mentioned as a part of the hot bathtub adventures. She couldn't have taken all of the photos.

My mom avoids the camera - kind of like I try to do, but sometimes James gets ahold of it, and then I usually delete most of the ones he takes of me. My mom didn't go in the hot tub, she wanted to stay inside and have absolute control over the remote.
