I Love autumn. We enjoyed an unseasonably warm weekend, but honestly I couldn't wait until the air dried up and cooled off again so we could snuggle back into our sweaters and scarves. Somehow 78 degrees with 70% humidity just doesn't seem right mid-October.
Thinking it would be a chilly weekend, I tried this for breakfast. I added some apples and cinnamon too, while it cooked overnight, and it was a healthy way to start the day. Aidan liked it too, but only after I dumped about 1/4 cup of brown sugar into his bowl.
We also had the pleasure of catching another mouse this weekend, and that same night many of the cars in our neighborhood were broken into. Maybe I should keep a mousetrap on the glove box. Wouldn't that be a funny surprise?

We woke up to a super chilly house and I just had to make a pot of cream of wheat.
Love the crock pot idea!
And the mouse trap one, too!
Love steel cut oats! Better deal if you find a buyer's club or something to buy them in bulk. I just cook them like oatmeal and do a big pan at a time to keep in the fridge.
