I have participated in a few over the past year. Some have been amazing, others..... well, lets just say there is no guarantee the person getting your name has good taste. I like this swap because you pick out your own fabric, someone else does the work for you, and all the sewing is based loosely on a pattern found in the "Bend the Rules" sewing book. I packed up my fabric and sent them to Tennessee, and yesterday a box of fabrics came for me. We all have one month to sew the lap-quilt,then we mail them to their rightful owners. I am so excited to see what both the finished products look like!
The picture is of the fabrics I chose for my lap-quilt. I keep wanting to change my living room to more of a beach-type theme, with pale blues and greens, but I seem to keep gravitating to folksy-looking fabrics and decor. (Another confession - while the items and arrangments in my living room may be constantly changing, I have had the same color and furniture for three years straight now, a record in my book.) But you never know, it could all change by next week!
