It's that time of year again. Starting in September all my free moments are spent sewing. Aidan has a little box in my sewing room filled with activities to keep him entertained, and on weekends I kick him and James out of the house so I can sew non-stop in my p.j.'s all day. I admit, I do get a little burned out, sometimes I think I just want to quit and take back my life. But then out of the blue someone will call and order a bunch of bags, or I will hear from some of the friends I have met at Art Fairs over the past few years, and then I get all excited to be out there again meeting people and selling my wares.
Another reason I can't quit is because of the massive quantity of fabric I now own. My closet in the sewing room is stuffed to the brim, and I now have a chest full, and a bunch stashed under the bed in my sewing room as well. I would love to part with some, but I have found that when I do, I end up searching high and low looking for that special piece because "I know it has to be in here somewhere!" And then last week someone gave me three huge bags of fabric from Schumacher. Talk about amazing! Most of my other fabrics pale in comparison to Schumacher's, the quality of their fabrics is tangible.
So if I am absent from the blogging world, it is because I am here, sewing like its my job. Because in fact -for the next three months- it is my job, and then all will settle down again after the holidays, and I will actually have time to clean my house and feed my family, and blog regularly again. (All the priorities in life, right?)
Here are some pictures of all the fabric I was given last week. I have huge mountains of fabric all around my office I am trying to find a spot for. I guess I should just sew faster so I can make room for it all.
And in case you are local, not only can you buy my bags here, (I blogged about this place last month) but I am also now here, just a short scenic drive from downtown Minneapolis.

JEALOUS! wish someone would give me bags of fabric. I'm sure you'll make all kinds of beautiful things with it!
(oh yeah, hi! this is Brian's sister Sarah)
