SWAP II
Well, I finished my lap quilt last night, and put it in the mail this morning. My swap partner, Shannon sent me lots of blue fabrics, which was fun because blue is not a color I do a whole lot with, so it was good for me to branch out. I also mixed in some vintage chenille and retro tablecloths too.... I hope she likes it.
The "rules" suggested you handstitch your quilt binding, which I did, and it turned out rather nicely. My corners need some improvement however, so if anyone has a good tip feel free to email me.
Hopefully my other swap partner gets my quilt in the mail this week too. I am so excited to see it. I am already planning to make some throw pillows to match. (in all my spare time.)

Rainy Day Project
Well - let me clarify - more like sick day project. Adian has been sick since Thursday night, so we have been housebound. He told me yesterday that he was "bored from being in the house all day with Daddy." We were planning on going about our normal Sunday activities today, but last night I woke to a little voice crying, "Please somebody cuddle me, I am so sick." And he was right, he had spiked a temp. So we are housebound again today.
Last week he bought that Goldy Gopher pillow for James with his own money. It is now the "Office Pillow." Don't tell James, but I think we are going to make him an "Office Blanket" for Christmas.
Now to our project.
I tossed around the idea of recovering his old chair but I wasn't quite sure how it was assembled, so I thought I would just keep my eye out for another chair. Then last week the back fell off (with the help of a certain little boy.) Perfect! I even had a huge piece of light beige upholstery-weight velveteen from Schumacher's given to me a few weeks ago. Now that chair is probably the most expensive thing in his office.

This is where
I spent my day.
I would love to say I sold out, but I have to admit, today's show was a bust. I have participated in this show two years in a row now....... I am not thinking I see a third in my future.
But the good news is I have plenty of items to restock the shops I am in, and I have a jump start on my next show, which promises to be much more successful. I also was able to catch up on some reading and sort through my massive piles of mail and magazines.
I am trying to branch out from bags this year and have more of a variety of items. Scarves have been a big hit, and I have also made some mittens, cloth napkins, dish towels, baby blankets, onesies, bibs..... all sorts of items. I had hoped to come home today with a good feel for how those other items would sell, but no such luck.
